Qinghai Lake is the largest plateau inland saltwater lake in China and one of the highest lakes in the world.
It is an important breeding ground for waterbirds and a major node in the migration channel. It is an important water source conservation area and water vapor circulation channel in western China. It is known as the “climate regulator”, “air humidifier” and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau species gene bank in northwest China.
