Lujiazui is located in the middle of Shanghai, on the banks of the Huangpu River in Pudong New District, Shanghai. It is surrounded by water on two sides. It faces the Bund International Architectural Expo Group across the river to the west, and overlooks the North Bund across the river to the north. It covers an area of 31.78 square meters. km.
Lujiazui is the core functional area of Shanghai International Financial Center and is the location of the China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and East Asia headquarters of many multinational banks. Lujiazui has modern buildings such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, and Shanghai Jin Mao Tower, and the ruins of the old wharf are on the riverside.
